How does therapy work?

Therapy is a conversation between you and your therapist—but it’s more than just talking. It’s a space where we slow things down, get curious together, and make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface. We’ll look at patterns, untangle the stuff that’s getting in your way, and build tools that actually work for you. Some days might feel deep, other days more practical—but every session is shaped by what you need most. You don’t have to do this alone. Your therapist is there to ask the hard questions, celebrate your wins, and help you move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are.

In couples counselling, therapy is a place to pause the arguments on repeat and actually hear each other. Maybe you're stuck in a cycle of miscommunication, navigating a big decision, or feeling more like roommates than partners. Your therapist helps you both understand what's happening beneath the surface—like unmet needs, emotional triggers, or old patterns from past relationships—and gives you tools to connect more honestly and respectfully. It’s not about blame; it’s about building something stronger, together.

In big life transitions, whether you're starting a new job, ending a relationship, becoming a parent, or moving to a new place, therapy offers a space to process all the changes—both the exciting parts and the ones that leave you feeling overwhelmed or unmoored. We’ll sort through the “what now?” and “who am I in this?” questions, find your footing, and build confidence in your next steps.

In self-discovery work, therapy is a space to get to know yourself more fully. Maybe you're asking, Why do I keep doing this thing I don't want to do?, What actually matters to me?, or What would it look like to show up as my full self?Together, we’ll explore your values, identity, beliefs, and emotional world. We might unpack your past or experiment with new ways of being in the present. Either way, the goal is clarity, compassion, and a stronger connection to who you are—and who you're becoming
